Women’s Aid

Women’s Aid Our working partnership with Fife Women’s Aid continues to grow. The referral routes between the organisations are fantastic, and we appreciate their support. Some of our volunteers have accessed their robust and effective training. Dundee Women’s Aid let us host a Freedom Programme at their location for women in North East Fife and Dundee. Professionals’ Events

We decided to provide information sessions to staff. The purpose of these sessions: to understand what the Freedom Programme is all about and be able to share the information with their client group. The feedback from these sessions was very positive; everyone found them very powerful in regards to raising awareness of behaviours in domestic abuse perpetrators. Statements from participants include: “This was absolutely fantastic and is amazing insight into what support is available for victims of domestic abuse, it will make it easier for me to explain to women what help is available and what is involved.” “Absolutely amazing the information given and interactive discussion were beneficial and insightful. A great way of presenting and well organised.” We delivered three groups in 2017, with around 90 participants. We look forward to more next...

Many of our participants take advantage of the opportunities offered by ABE and subsequently decide to join other courses, further enabling their journey towards independence....

These groups have worked really well in conjunction with the Freedom Programme and Toolkit for Life. Mark Brown has done a fantastic job with the Best of You, and we look forward to continuing working with...
